Exhibitions and events are about creating an atmosphere. The brand’s role is to ensure its audiences can collaborate, educate or celebrate.

We understand the fast pace, budget considerations, and logistics surrounding events. However, we still seek opportunities in each project to deliver a wow factor.

Apprentice of the Year – National and regional events
Master Builders
This is the leading apprentice competition in the building and construction sector. The brand represents striving to be the best, recognition and achievement. Each item is also designed to resonate with its various audiences – whether it’s apprentices, their employers, students, children, or the broader building and construction community. Various digital and print items were created.

Annual awards
Science New Zealand
We created an event around the idea of IMPACTS (as the mahi scientists do often builds upon previous discoveries). The design features a dynamic, abstract wave/koru. This reinforces the event’s purpose to celebrate both individual and collective achievements, which enable New Zealand to move forward. Various digital and print items were created, ranging from awards and booklets to table menu cards, invitations, social media posts, and PPT presentations.

Public Sector Awards
IPANZ
SCENARIO developed the huia feather concept for this event to give mana and prestige to those who achieve excellence. This inspired the theming for the event itself (one year it was based on birds at night coming down to the forest floor to gather/chatter). Applications ranged from trophy design through to event collateral. Small pins were also available for purchase for the winners to wear.

New Zealand Commercial Project Awards – national and regional events
Master Builders
This prestigious awards programme sets the benchmark for commercial construction in New Zealand, and the design SCENARIO created reflects the high calibre of both the event, and the projects it celebrates. Various digital and print items were created for these special events.

Fieldays® – Forestry Hub
Forest Owners Association
We enjoyed contributing to a design and layout that enabled the New Zealand Agricultural Fieldays® Forestry Hub to come alive. While each item was designed to appear slightly different (to provide visual interest and variety), they all sat cohesively together. A wide range of digital and print items were created for the Hub itself, and for a number of the exhibitors.

‘Connect’ GP Conference
Evolution Healthcare
SCENARIO created the name for this conference to give it a human element (as although it is a CPD-accredited event, research indicated that GPs attended because of the opportunity to connect with other medical specialists and practitioners, to cross-pollinate ideas, learn, grow, discuss and reconnect a year later). Various digital and print items were designed to engage GPs, ranging from sponsorship prospectuses, advertising, invitations, tote bags, event programmes, exhibition stands, and environmental graphics.

Constructive – regional summits and national conference
Master Builders
The theme behind Constructive 2025 was to create a platform ‘where change happens – bigger, bolder, and more’. SCENARIO was heavily influenced by this concept in this rebrand. Various digital and print items were created, and there’s no doubt the designs were indeed ‘bigger, bolder and more’. As the Constructive conference continues to go from strength to strength, it was recently expanded to regional Summits, which have been well received.

Voices of the Pacific Conference
Horticulture New Zealand
This conference connects the Pacific Islands with the New Zealand Horticulture industry. The design brief was to create a celebratory atmosphere and foster a sense of partnership and community. The lock-up represents people communicating, and the colours and shapes are suggestive of Pasifika, as well as fruit and vegetable. Various digital and print items were created for this successful event.

House of the Year – regional events and national gala
Master Builders
This prestigious competition celebrates building excellence in New Zealand. It awards the best homes and builders, as well as the craftsmanship that goes into them. SCENARIO’s rebrand echoes this with dynamic, spotlight-layered effects and sophisticated, gold-glitter accents. The light aqua-mist colour is also a fantastic colour on the night. Various digital and print items were created to celebrate this premium event – and all of the winners.

Diplomatic anniversary logos
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Manatū Aorere
We designed a suite of branding collateral for MFAT to commemorate New Zealand’s diplomatic anniversaries with China (50th), Japan (70th), and the Republic of Korea (60th). Each logo contained relevant symbols for New Zealand and the Anniversary partner countries, as well as symbolic colours, so they stand alone, yet also form a united set.

ALTA Conference
Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington
The brief for this conference hosted by the Law Faculty was to make it sophisticated, world-class, stunning, engaging and communicate well. The final concept selected was called ‘Seeds of Knowledge’ – as the pods hold and protect a group of seeds. The harakeke is unique to New Zealand and is often a metaphor for family bonds and human relationships. Harakeke also had a connection to Pipitea, as flax fibre was exported to Australia. The University colour palette inspired the colours, and the three pods represent the three core areas covered in this Conference. Various digital and print items were created to support this successful event.
