Multichannel Campaign: Forestry Careers – Forest Owners Association

About
The forestry sector is a major – and growing – contributor to New Zealand’s economy. One of the big challenges the industry faces is ensuring that it has the right number of people, in the right places and with the right skills to deliver on the work ahead.

Our brief was to create a training and careers portal that provides information to those interested in a career in forestry and promotes the diverse range of employment opportunities in the sector.

Approach
The forestry sector is a complex one. Kicking off the process with a workshop involving participants from different parts of the sector helped to underpin the content, structure, and tone of the website.

This groundwork was key to ensuring the site meets the needs of its various audiences – whether they be students and their teachers looking for career options and training opportunities, parents wanting reassurance about health and safety, or workers looking to move into or within the sector.

Outcomes
The Forestry Training and Careers Website is now an established ‘go to’ tool for people interested in the industry, no matter what stage of their career.

It is a knowledge hub which aims to inform, advise and provide industry contacts.

It helps ensure that young people and workers have the information they need to make the most of the opportunities the sector offers, and that employers have access to the workers they need to deliver value to their businesses, their communities, and Aotearoa New Zealand.
